Mines

Mines places a chosen number of mines on a grid. Each safe reveal increases the multiplier. You may cash out after any safe tile or continue and risk hitting a mine.

Commonly near 99% when payouts match combinatorial probabilities minus edge.

Overview

Mines is a sequential reveal game. Mine count sets difficulty. Fewer mines mean gentler ladders; more mines mean steeper multipliers and earlier bust risk.

Rules

Choose grid size (product-specific), mine count, and stake.

Click tiles to reveal. A mine ends the round with a loss.

Cash out after any safe reveal to lock the current multiplier.

How It Works

Fair multipliers track hypergeometric probabilities: remaining safe tiles over remaining tiles, compounded across picks, then reduced by house edge.

Pre-committing to a number of reveals is a variance control — not a method to beat the edge.

Payouts

Each safe pick multiplies the potential return. Cash-out pays stake × current multiplier.

If a mine is hit before cash-out, payout is zero for that round.

Examples

3 mines on a 25-tile grid with a plan to pick 3 tiles: moderate step-ups, cash out plan reduces late-round busts.

10 mines with deep picks: large multipliers, frequent early terminations.

Strategies

Decide pick count and mine count before the round. Avoid moving the goalposts after wins or losses.

Tile-picking myths (corners, patterns) do not change probabilities when placement is random and verified.

RTP

RTP assumes correct payout ladders for each mine/pick combination. Confirm the live ladder matches expectations.

House Edge

Edge appears as a haircut on combinatorial fair odds. Every additional pick still has negative EV if the ladder embeds that edge.

Variance

Mine count and planned depth dominate variance. Deep high-mine runs are entertainment with high ruin risk per unit bankroll.
